Tutor HSEP students in Math and Science!

The magnet school, High School for the Engineering Professions (HSEP), attracts the brightest and most ambitious students in HISD’s high schools. They must first qualify for admission, and then maintain above a specified GPA to stay at HSEP. For many years, ExxonMobil has supported HSEP programs such as a robotics laboratory, a mentoring program and the annual senior banquet.

HSEP badly needs tutors to help their eager students in math and science courses. Tutoring involves meeting with students at HSEP once or twice a week for an hour or two each time. They need help in all the math courses such as algebra, geometry, calculus, as well as chemistry and physics.

HSEP is located on Yale about ½ mile north of the North Loop (I-610).

For more information and to volunteer, please contact the HSEP coordinator, Jyoti Malhan, at 713-696-6633 or JMalhan@houstonisd.org, or Terry Gardner, an ExxonMobil retiree volunteer tutor, 713-705-9026 or tngardner@aol.com.
